How It Works

1

Add Your Players

Type each player's name, jersey number, and position. Signed in, you can import a roster from a pasted list or a photo instead.

2

Set the Lineup

Arrange your batting order on screen, then drag players into positions for each inning. Signed in, Auto Balance can fill the innings grid for you; it doesn't change your batting order.

3

Download the PDFs

Enter an email address to download the lineup card and playing-time grid as PDFs — no account needed. The card's Batting Order table follows the batting order you set on screen, with each hitter's inning-1 position. Printing straight from this page needs an account.

Features

Auto Balance — with an account

Signed in, Auto Balance fills the innings grid: inning 1 starts from the starting positions you picked, later innings rotate players through the positions, and pitchers take the mound by the SP, RP, and CL roles you set — with no role for an inning, the previous inning's pitcher stays on. With more players than positions, bench innings go in turns: whoever has sat the fewest innings so far sits next, except the pitcher on the mound and anyone in a position you filled for every inning. It only counts innings on this card, so check the playing-time totals before game day.

Playing-Time Tracking

Totals update as you drag players into positions, showing how many innings each player spends at a position (DH counts; the bench doesn't). Alerts flag uneven playing time, two players at one position, and empty positions. No account needed.

PDF Download

Download the lineup card and a playing-time grid as PDFs with no account — just enter an email address. The card lists your batting order as you set it, each hitter's inning-1 position, the rest of the roster as reserves, your pitchers, and game details. Share sends the lineup card PDF itself — or saves it when the browser can't share it — so whoever gets it sees your lineup.

Roster Import — with an account

Signed in, paste a roster copied from a spreadsheet or upload a photo of one, and player names, jersey numbers, and positions are pulled in for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this lineup generator really free?

Yes, the lineup card is free. Without an account you can add players, set the batting order, drag players into positions for every inning, see playing-time totals and fairness alerts, and download the lineup card — in the batting order you set — and playing-time grid as PDFs by entering an email address. Importing a roster, Auto Balance, and printing straight from this page need an account — sign in, or start a 14-day free trial with no credit card.

How do the fairness alerts work?

As you fill in the grid, the card counts each player's innings at a position (DH included, bench not) and flags anyone two or more innings behind the teammate with the most. It also warns when two players share a position in an inning or one of the nine field positions (P, C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF) is empty. With an account, Auto Balance starts inning 1 from the starting positions you picked, rotates players through the positions after that, and gives out bench innings in turns when you have more players than positions. It only counts innings on this card, so check the totals before game day.

Can I use this for travel and competitive teams?

Yes. The card works the same for recreational, travel, and competitive teams. Pick a starting position for anyone in your lineup; with an account, Auto Balance starts inning 1 from those picks and leaves alone any position you've already filled for every inning.

Which sports does the free lineup card support?

Baseball and softball, fastpitch and slowpitch — the same 9 field positions apply, and you can add a designated hitter (DH). Coaching basketball, football, hockey, soccer, or volleyball? Pick your sport under Lineup Generators by Sport.
